The Maintenance Supervisor is a key contributor to the execution of our Facilities Management Work Order process responsible for the day-to-day direction and coordination of work performed by maintenance staff at various Regional Maintenance Centers throughout Maricopa County. This position will ensure that all properties are maintained to departmental expectations by providing timely responses to work orders and providing excellent leadership and direction to ensure projects are completed safely efficiently and cost-effectively.

As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning design construction maintenance and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Our broad range of services includes various aspects of the ongoing operations and maintenance of all County-owned facilities management of all facility projects and in-house design services.

We Require
Five years of journey-level trades experience building/facility and related equipment repair maintenance and grounds services which include short and long-term planning monitoring contracts/vendors and organizing preventative maintenance activities of multidisciplinary trade technicians
High school diploma or GED
Other Requirements
Successful candidates must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Drivers license by the time of hire
Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities

Two or more years of lead or supervisory experience
Job Contributions
Plan organize and manage building repair operations and preventive maintenance activities of multi-disciplined trade technicians
Generate prioritize schedule and assign corrective preventive and discretionary work orders for journey-level and semi-skilled trades personnel and monitor the progress of all assignments in the field
Improve operations decrease turnaround times streamline work processes reduce costs and extend the life of building assets
Create and ensure safe work practices O&M and County policies are followed
Establish employee performance measures goals objectives and priorities evaluating work performance; provide feedback direction and guidance; keep personnel apprised of new or revised information answering questions recommending and/or implementing personnel actions
Provide quality seamless customer service to County employees leadership and non-County contacts
Recommend for hire journey-level and semi-skilled multi-disciplined trade technician staff develop and conduct staff training and provide for their professional development

Working Conditions
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally 10 - 25 pounds frequently or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts vibrations fumes odors dust poor ventilation chemicals oils extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions intense noises and travel
The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities the employee may be exposed to loud noise noxious odors unsanitary conditions chemicals electricity moving mechanical parts varying weather conditions and other related conditions and situations. Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: fumes odors dust mists gases or poor ventilation
Possibly on a rotational cycle servicing regions and locations based on the direct need outlined by the O&M Manager and Assistant Manager
