Systems Administrator
Location: Dahlgren VA
Job Description: The Systems Administrator supports the secure stable and resilient operation of critical DoD enterprise networks and IT infrastructure across geographically distributed SCSTC locations. This role involves the daily administration sustainment and troubleshooting of networks servers workstations and virtual environments. They are responsible for software/hardware installations upgrades patch management and maintaining LAN/WAN architectures.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Four (4) years of system management experience
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure protocols and tools including LAN/WAN architecture TCP/IP and OSI model concepts.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware Hyper-V) and virtual machine management.
- Proficiency with server and client operating systems (Windows/Linux) and OS command-line utilities.
- Knowledge of IT security principles such as firewalls DMZs and system hardening techniques.
- Knowledge of data security standards and policies.
- Expertise in system diagnostic and maintenance procedures.
- Experience with remote access technologies and VPN security.
- Knowledge of wireless transmission protocols and jamming techniques (Bluetooth RFID IR Wi-Fi etc.)
- Experience with cloud computing deployment models (public private hybrid) and migrating workloads between them.
Education/Certification: Must possess a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Security CE CySA CCNA Security GSEC SSCP and GICSP)
Security: Active Secret clearance required at hire.
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python Bash) for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with ITIL v4 Foundation and advanced enterprise monitoring solutions.
- Prior experience supporting geographically dispersed Navy or DoD enterprise networks
