JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Administrative Associate 2 provides essential administrative clerical and operational support to the Medical Examiners Office. This position manages case documentation coordinates communication between families law enforcement healthcare providers and internal staff and ensures accurate and timely processing of records reports and official correspondence.
Responsibilities- Vets outside phone calls and routes to an investigator evidence tech and/or clerical staff.
- Coordinates appointments for law enforcement to pick up autopsy reports court packets or meet with/speak with a pathologist regarding a case.
- Compiles Sudden Death in the Young (SDY) case registration data and shares information and corresponds with pathologists clerical techs and the SDY Coordinating Center.
- Receives and monitors cremation requests and death certificates.
- Enters funeral home information in the case management system.
- Receives medical records police reports etc. from the DIs and scans and uploads electronically to the DIDI database for pathologist review.
- Maintains office scene bag and vehicle supplies arranges and coordinates IT maintenance requests.
- Runs reports enters information into case management system and assists other staff with front office operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION:High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of administrative experience; ORAssociates Degree in lieu of experience.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge and abilities in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to learn new online applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects.
- Ability to quickly gain knowledge of the medicolegal system and communicate clearly with other staff or agencies.
- Ability to communicate with grieving family members in a compassionate manner.
