RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS COACH ROLE SUMMARY

At Salem Gymnastics & Swim you will be entering a vibrant family-oriented atmosphere where fun and teaching collide. This is an opportunity to engage and inspire kids through the sport of gymnastics. If you like working with kids and being active then this is a wonderful opportunity for you. Recreational Gymnastics Instructors at Salem Gymnastics & Swim will be responsible for conducting Gymnastics classes for various students of different ages abilities and skill levels. Classes range from preschool classes Beginner Advanced and Intermediate levels. At times Recreational Gymnastics Instructors may be asked to perform other necessary duties as well. Recreational Gymnastics Instructors typically report to the Recreational Gymnastics Director.

RESPONSBILITIES
Successfully complete training and mentoring program to learn about coaching gymnastics at Salem

Ensure training is utilized when instructing classes

Encourage and inspire kids to be their best

Smile and have fun during the entire shift.

Educate and enforce safety rules. We value the safety of our students and staff.

Strive to prevent accidents and maintain discipline.

Assist with tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Attend meetings and training sessions as they are scheduled.

Be willing to substitute for teammates when they are unable to work

Perform additional duties as necessary given by the Recreation Gymnastics Director OR Floor Leader.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS & QUALITIES

Ability to perform a rigorous work schedule which includes lifting loading and unloading and ability maneuver up to 40 lbs.

Compensation: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour

For decades Salem has been the trusted name in Winston-Salem for gymnastics. The company was founded in 1980 for the purpose of providing a safe professional but fun place to train the sport and it has not disappointed. Beneath the tagline Where Confidence Soars tens of thousands of children have learned gymnastics and more at Salem some to the level of national champion or scholarship collegiate athlete and others simply reaching their goal of learning a cartwheel. Many Salem students have remained in the sport as coaches judges State Directors and even gymnastics school owners themselves.

However the achievement that makes us proudest happens every week when former students bring their own children back to Salem to learn from us continuing the tradition.

In August 2001 Salem moved to its current location and expanded to offer martial arts dance Fitkids and several other disciplines. Although some programs have continued and others have ended our commitment to being a safe fun professional place for children to grow has never wavered.

After a near drowning incident involving the Morphis daughter the longtime dream of owning a professional swim school became a burning desire. The 2016 addition of Salem Swim now fills the void for year-round warm water instruction dedicated to teaching swimming from the first bubbles through the most advanced strokes in a loving nurturing environment.
