Job Summary

Receiving general direction from the Security Director Operations Manager Supervisor or Charge Officer incumbent shall provide a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients visitors and employees by enforcing Hospital security regulations and by continuously watching for and the timely reporting of all hazards or unusual occurrences through patrol of assigned areas. Furthermore the incumbent shall provide protective service and response for protection of the people and property of the Hospital and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of Department.


Qualifications

Education Minimum of a high school diploma required A strong educational background (Associates or Bachelors degree) in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred Experience No experience required but 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred License/Certifications Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Drivers license or valid license form the state in which the employee resides Must submit to and pass an annual criminal background check. Must obtain prior to the end of training period and maintain throughout employment: o AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention & De-Escalation Training Must obtain within the first 90 days of employment and maintain throughout employment: o International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Basic Officer Certification o First Aid/CPR/AED o FEMA IC-100 ICS-200 and ICS-700 Must obtain within one year of employment and maintain throughout employment: o HandcuffingTraining o Pepper Spray Defense Training Preferred Qualifications: o Massachusetts License to Carry Class A Licensure
