TEMPORARY ART DIRECTOR
HGTV Magazine Food Network Magazine and The Pioneer Woman Magazine are seeking a talented motivated detail-oriented temporary Art Director to join its editorial art department. The position involves collaborating with art photo edit and prepress
departments on overlapping monthly issues and special projectsthe ability to multi-task is key. The
candidate must have thorough knowledge of magazine production and prepress processes to ensure
on-time shipping of pages. Also the individual must have an exceptional sense of color and
experience working with imaging specialists to reach desired results.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and lay out front-of-book and feature stories
Art direct photo shoots
Work with prop stylists
Mark up color
Work closely with Design Director and design department to maintain and evolve the look of the magazine
Design special sections and projects
Assign illustrations
Requirements:
At least 5 years experience in the art department of a major consumer magazine
Strong designer
Sharp eye for color and ability to communicate corrections to imaging
Pre press and production experience
Photo shoot experience
InDesign (Woodwing required); Photoshop Illustrator
The base salary for this role is $55/hr. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors such as: transferable skills work experience business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
