About the Role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager will administer and manage the professional and operational resources of the unit. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for providing mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Team.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will support and assist the Nurse Unit Manager in achieving specific Key Performance Indicators.

  • Act as a role model by demonstrating consistent consumer service.

  • Manage portfolios as delegated by Nurse Unit Manager.

  • Practices within policy and procedural guidelines.

  • Will supervise and direct other staff as required in clinical practice. Ensures incidents regarding clinical practice are accurately documented and investigated at the time of the incident and the Nurse Unit Manager is informed.

  • Responds to clinical changes in patients condition and initiates consultation with relevant medical/nursing and multidisciplinary team as required.


Classifications for this position will range from YW11 - YW12 ($106834.00 - $110432.10 per annum pro rata).


Your Contribution

  • Current AHPRA Registration

  • Registered Nurse Division 1

  • Post graduate qualification in Cancer Nursing or actively undertaking

  • Experience as an ANUM or CNS

  • Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain

About: 6 West Haematology & Oncology
6 West is a 22 bed ward comprising acute Haematology and Oncology beds. The 6 West team is passionate and dedicated to our cancer patients whilst upholding a strong and positive working culture and environment. All disciplines of staff are committed to providing the highest quality of care inline with the SVHM values compassion justice integrity and excellence. All staff on 6 West are also required to actively participate in their own professional development and self directed learning in order to maintain high quality clinical skills and knowledge.
