IP Law Internship- Summer 2026

DEKA Research & Development housed in Manchester NH has an exciting opportunity for an IP Law Intern to work in a dynamic R&D environment and be a part of a community that is creating innovative solutions that truly make a difference.

DEKA offers Internships and Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks 12 preferred. All summerinternships must start no later than June 15 2026.

How you will make an impact and an IP Law Intern:

• Reviewing and Organizing Electronic Patent Files
• Creating Structures to Correlate Patent Families
• Working with Database to Structure IDS Filings
• Preparing Documents for Filing at the USPTO
• Complete Electronic Filings at the USPTO
• Track and Organize Incoming Correspondence from Foreign Associates
• Legal Secretarial and Administrative Tasks as Needed

• Must complete 2nd year in an accredited a Juris Doctorate program or equivalent prior to starting internship.
• Must be Patent Bar eligible.
• Personal or professional experience with structuring and organizing information.
• Computer skills with word processing and data entry preferred.
• Must have strong written and verbalcommunication.
• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to be onsite 40 hours a week Monday-Friday.
• Ability to work independently establishing project milestones and reporting.
• Strong interpersonal skills positive attitude proactive approach to problem solving reliable and outcome driven.

*Applicants should be aware that short-term housing options in Manchester NH are limited and that DEKA is not able to assist with housing.

Public transportation is available and routes/schedules can be found by visiting the Manchester Transit Authority .

Please be aware that we try to make sure that our internship opportunities are well defined and will provide a unique experience. We understand that most candidates would like to know if they have a placement as soon as possible but at DEKA it takes more time than other companies at we review every application that is submitted. *A full time student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester at an undergraduate program or a minimum of 9 credits per semester for a graduate program.
