The role

The Head of SEO is the strategic leader of the SEO function responsible for shaping the long-term vision growth trajectory and business impact of the organic search channel across the companys selected market portfolio or specific SEO branch. This executive-level role is focused on innovation profitability and market expansion not daily operations. The Head of SEO aligns SEO with broader business objectives and positions it as a core revenue driver and competitive advantage.

What youll be doing

• Define and lead the companys global SEO vision and long-term strategic roadmap within their given market portfolio or a specific SEO branch.

• Own the portfolios full P&L (Profit & Loss) including forecasting budgeting and ROI analysis.

• Identify and evaluate new markets niches and scalable opportunities for organic acquisition and monetisation.

• Stay ahead of search engine algorithm updates SERP trends and evolving best practices to ensure market leadership.

• Lead and mentor the SEO team to foster innovation accountability and continuous improvement.

• Serve as the senior SEO representative in executive and cross-departmental strategy discussions.

• Lead crisis response and change management efforts during major algorithmic regulatory or technical disruptions.
  

Who were looking for

Education / Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Data Science or related field; Masters degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

• Certifications in SEO analytics or digital marketing platforms are advantageous (e.g. GA4 SEMrush HubSpot).

• Certifications in digital strategy analytics or leadership are advantageous.

Experience:

• 710 years in SEO roles with at least 3 years in senior strategic or leadership positions.

• Proven track record of scaling organic performance across large portfolios or global markets.

• Experience managing SEO at scale in high-competition high-regulation industries especially iGaming.

Technical Skills:

• Strong financial and commercial acumen: P&L management forecasting and budgeting.

• Advanced skills in market research competitor analysis and trend forecasting.

• High-level understanding of data science principles applied to SEO: predictive analytics modeling attribution.

• Familiarity with enterprise SEO platforms and advanced analytics/reporting tools.

• AI Proficiency & Automation: Proven expertise in advanced prompt engineering and using generative AI tools to enhance technical SEO practices particularly in automating audits optimizing for entity recognition and streamlining data analysis for faster strategy execution.

Soft Skills

• Visionary leadership with a focus on long-term business impact.

• Strong executive communication presentation and negotiation skills.

• High-level strategic and critical thinking.

• Ability to influence C-Level stakeholders and align SEO with enterprise-wide goals.

iGaming Knowledge

• Expert-level understanding of the global iGaming industry including:

  • Affiliate models and player value dynamics.

  • Regulatory environments across major markets (e.g. UKGC MGA Ontario).

  • M&A activity market expansion and competitive positioning.
