Your mission
As a Junior Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Specialist you will play a foundational role in shaping how Ucaneo understands quantifies and improves the environmental performance of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology.
Because LCA is core to the credibility optimization and commercial viability of any carbon removal solution this role requires strong methodological grounding and the ability to execute LCA work with rigor traceability and depth.
You will work closely with engineering operations and external partners gaining exposure to how lifecycle data operational learnings and system design choices shape carbon performance product direction and commercial viability.
Key responsibilities
- Build maintain and continuously improve LCA models for DAC systems (from demonstration scale to commercial systems)
- Apply sound LCA methodology including system boundary definition allocation procedures uncertainty considerations and sensitivity analysis
- Populate and maintain Life Cylce Inventory (LCI) data using supplier engineering and operational inputs
- Support MRV-related data preparation documentation and consistency checks to ensure auditable standards-aligned carbon accounting
- Analyze key environmental performance drivers (materials energy utilities infrastructure) and identify hotspots and improvement levers
- Support internal and external reporting related to lifecycle carbon performance including customer-facing and regulatory documentation
Your profile
Skills & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Engineering Industrial Ecology Sustainability Science Energy Systems or a related fieldFirst hands-on experience with Life Cycle Assessment (academic projects internships thesis or early-career roles)
- Familiarity with LCA tools and databases (e.g. openLCA SimaPro ecoinvent GaBi)
- Understanding of LCA standards (ISO 14040/44)
