Stationary Test & Generator Technician (Electrical & Fuel Cell)
Are you a highly skilled Power Plant or Generator Technician with a mastery of instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting We are seeking a versatile technician to lead the instrumentation maintenance and field support for stationary test apparatus. This role is a unique blend of laboratory-based R&D and field-based troubleshooting requiring a technician who can work independently to ensure the reliability of complex power systems.
What Youll Do (Responsibilities)
You will own the technical lifecycle of stationary test units from initial instrumentation and data acquisition to field repair and routine maintenance.

Test Instrumentation: Instrument stationary test apparatus using both proprietary and off-the-shelf Data Acquisition (DAQ) equipment.

Data Management: Execute data acquisition and compilation focusing on system and performance data to support engineering analysisTest Cell Operations: Configure test cells install/remove test parts and maintain test cell environments to ensure continuous uptime.

Electrical Troubleshooting: Primary focus on diagnosing and repairing High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems including PLCs generators and pneumatic systems.

Field Support: Provide off-site troubleshooting and repair at customer field sites (requires 25% travel).

Maintenance & Fabrication: Perform routine maintenance on test units and peripheral equipment. Leverage fabrication skills (welding machine shop) to support system modifications.

Safety & Reporting: Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development and issue technical reports (daily/weekly) regarding system status and test results.
What Youll Bring (Requirements)
We are looking for a technician with a safety-first mindset and the technical depth to handle high-voltage power generation equipment.

Experience: Minimum 4 years as a Power Plant Technician Generator Technician or in a transferable heavy-industrial industry.

Instrumentation & Controls: Proven experience utilizing I&C for generators compressors and motors.

Electrical Expertise: Must have High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) experience. * Plus: High Voltage certification (1000V AC/DC).

Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams technical manuals and system schematics.

System Knowledge: Experience inspecting testing and repairing natural gas or diesel generators and automatic transfer switches.

Fabrication Skills: Hands-on experience with machine shop tools and welding (MIG & TIG).

Logistics: A good driving record (no accidents/violations in 3 years) and the ability to drive manual transmission (M/T) vehicles is a plus.

PPE: Must be able to wear prescription safety glasses (ANSI Z87.1) and safety shoes (EH and/or SD rated).

Flexibility: Adaptable to changing work environments including remote test locations.

Schedule: Expect an average of 1 hour of overtime per day and 25% travel.
