The Role
Deloitte is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technology Delivery Programme Manager to join our dynamic software delivery team in London. This is a full-time contract role offering the opportunity to lead complex high-impact technology programmes for our diverse client base with a particular focus on the Financial Services (FS) sector in regulated operations. You will be instrumental in driving the successful delivery of innovative solutions transforming businesses and ensuring our clients achieve their strategic objectives especially within critical operational areas such as collections remediation and other regulated FS operations.

This role is unique in its requirement for someone who can drive delivery of software implementations but also drive business development activities with clients in the FS sector. As a Programme Manager you will not only be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technology programmes but also for identifying shaping and securing new client engagements in the operational space such as Collections Remediation Quality Assurance and Outcome Testing. You will be at the forefront of managing large-scale technology implementations and system integration projects from initial client interaction and proposal development through to successful execution and closure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Engagement Origination: Proactively identify qualify and secure new technology delivery engagements within the Financial Services sector. This includes understanding client needs shaping compelling solutions leading proposal development pitches and negotiating contracts to close deals leveraging own network to drive new business.
  • Programme Leadership & Governance: Lead and manage complex technology programmes ensuring adherence to programme governance frameworks methodologies (Agile Waterfall Hybrid) and best practices. Ownership of project budgets and forecasts.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Define programme scope objectives deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders. Develop comprehensive programme plans including timelines budgets resource allocation and risk management strategies.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead mentor and motivate cross-functional project teams fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Ensure effective resource planning and utilisation.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders internal teams third-party vendors and other key contributors. Effectively manage expectations facilitate clear communication and negotiate solutions across all levels ensuring client satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify assess report and manage programme risks and issues developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure successful delivery. Understanding of risk management at a deep level.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the high quality of programme deliverables adhering to Deloittes standards and client requirements. Oversee testing strategies and ensure successful deployment.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide regular transparent concise and accurate programme status reports to stakeholders highlighting progress risks issues and key decisions required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement within programme delivery processes and methodologies. Proactive identification of areas of improvement or roadmap development such as AI capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record (typically 5 years) in leading and successfully delivering large-scale complex technology programmes ideally within a consulting environment or large enterprise.
  • Demonstrable experience within the Financial Services (FS) operations space with specific expertise in areas such as collections remediation customer onboarding or similar highly regulated operational processes. Solid understanding of operating within a regulated environment.
  • Extensive experience in delivering and implementing workflow case management contact centre or low code technology solutions into FS operations or other similarly regulated and complex environments.
  • Proven capability in business development with own FS network with a track record of identifying opportunities shaping solutions leading bid processes and securing new client engagements.
  • Exceptional client-facing communication and facilitation skills with a strong ability to build rapport manage relationships influence senior stakeholders and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences presenting compelling value propositions and securing favourable terms.
  • Extensive experience with various project and programme management methodologies including Agile (Scrum) Waterfall and Hybrid approaches.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and experience/knowledge of various technology stacks.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing programme budgets resources and schedules effectively. Experience of leading teams of 8 technology SMEs.
  • Proficiency with programme management tools and frameworks (e.g. Jira Microsoft Project Asana Azure DevOps).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset with the capacity to navigate complex challenges and drive solutions.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PMP PRINCE2 SAFe AgilePM or equivalent.
  • Experience in change risk and issue management. Deep understanding of technology risk management processes and mitigation strategies.
