Job Summary

Our client Waycon Manufacturing Ltd. based in Penticton BC is a leading industrial equipment and machinery manufacturer serving clients across North America. Known for delivering high-quality custom-built solutions they support a wide range of industries from a two-acre facility equipped with advanced in-house machinery state-of-the-art tooling and cutting-edge engineering technology. Their capabilities span concept design CNC machining fabrication welding painting assembly and testing.

They are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Journeyman to join their this key role you will operate a variety of CNC machines to produce precision components that meet their high-quality standards. This position is ideal for a self-starter with a strong mechanical aptitude precision-focused mindset and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

Operate CNC lathes milling machines and horizontal boring machines to produce precision components;
Load tools set up programs and perform machine edits as necessary;
Interpret and analyze engineering drawings and specifications in both metric and imperial units;
Conduct quality inspections and make adjustments to ensure optimal production output;
Maintain clean organized and safe work and equipment areas;
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project timelines;
Troubleshoot machining issues efficiently and participate in continuous improvement initiatives;
Support prototype machining and small production runs as required.

Requirements

CNC Machinist Journeyman certification (required);
Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment;
Proficient in CNC programming especially Mastercam (toolpaths optimization G-code editing);
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with precision measuring instruments;
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output;
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team;
Adaptable to changing job requirements and evolving technology;
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining challenges.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive hourly wage: $30$40/hour depending on experience and qualifications;
