Job Summary

Girl Scouts is the worlds largest organization dedicated exclusively to girls building courage confidence and character to help girls make the world a better place. Girl Scouts Heart of the South serves more than 6000 girls across north Mississippi west Tennessee and Crittenden County Arkansas with the support of over 2000 volunteers. Through leadership development and hands-on experiences girls gain the skills to lead collaborate and create meaningful a rapidly changing interconnected world Girl Scouts prepares girls to step confidently into future roles as leaders in their families communities businesses and governmentsmaking the world smaller and every girl bigger.

The Program Manager is responsible for planning implementing and evaluating high-quality Girl Scout programs that build leadership confidence and character in girls across the councils service area. This role ensures program excellence equity and alignment with the Girl Scouts mission while supporting volunteers community partners and staff in delivering impactful experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design manage and evaluate girl-centered programs aligned with Girl Scout outcomes and council goals

  • Recruit train and support volunteers to deliver safe inclusive and engaging programming

  • Collaborate with schools community organizations and partners to expand program reach and impact

  • Monitor program budgets timelines and performance metrics

  • Ensure compliance with Girl Scout policies safety standards and best practices

  • Analyze participation data and prepare reports to support continuous improvement

  • Support council-wide initiatives events and strategic priorities



Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in education nonprofit management youth development or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 35 years of experience in program management youth development or nonprofit services

  • Strong leadership organizational and project management skills

  • Experience working with volunteers and diverse communities

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Proficiency with data tracking reporting tools and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to travel within the councils geographic area and work occasional evenings or weekends
