Job Summary
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. For more details please view are looking for a Research Fellow to work in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and conduct research on digital manufacturing strategies for construction with a particular focus on 3D concrete printing and architected designs. The role will focus on performing independent and collaborative research to meet the project objectives developing new solutions and publishing high-quality journal papers. The appointment is for 1 year with a provision for further extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct independent and collaborative research on digital fabrication technologies for construction including 3D concrete printing.
Plan and carry out experimental programs involving the fabrication testing and characterization of concrete and composite materials.
Develop architected structures using numerical simulation topology optimization and parametric design tools.
Contribute to the dissemination of research outcomes through peer-reviewed journal publications and technical reports.
Assist in securing external funding through grant applications and proposals.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
At least 2 years of technical hands-on experience in 3D concrete printing and proficiency in numerical simulation.
Strong academic record with demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
