Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) exists to serve our community. Our Elders describe our purpose as:
Service Delivery and Development
Operate and safely deliver all SEWB funded and community co-designed programs
Monitor team and program KPIs and individual targets required of direct reporting staff.
Contribute to the ongoing SEWB service development via recruitment contract development and performance management.
Foster productive working relationships with all MDAS staff in the delivery of seamless support services.
Identify examine educate and improve practices to meet organizational standard.
Leadership
Provide monthly line management for all staff within the operating team/Pod.
Conduct regular team meetings and SEWB whole of service meetings.
Oversee performance management processes including development of position descriptions individual work plans and performance reviews for direct reporting staff.
Adequately manage conflict resolution within a social emotional wellbeing health service.
Maintain professional inter-organisational confidentiality at all times.
Demonstrate professionalism self-awareness self-care resiliency empathy; and actively seek feedback from a wide range of sources.
Create promote and maintain a healthy organisational culture incorporating a positive learning environment high performance levels respect collaboration support reflective practice and healthy communication.
Reporting and Compliance
Input accurate timely and relevant data into MDAS approved systems demonstrating progress towards KPIs Community identified needs and
Contribute to writing submissions and reports in accordance with funding body and accreditation requirements.
Assess and manage risk in relation to client service delivery and healthy outcomes.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and achievement of excellence in service delivery.
Stakeholder Management
Represent MDAS as a contact point between the client and other professional services ensuring relevant information is shared between all without jeopardising confidentiality or privacy legislation.
Provide leadership in relation to the development and maintenance of key local strategic relationships including representation at internal and external meetings.
Initiate delegate and monitor collaborative relationships enhancing the overall health and wellbeing of clients.
Internally liaise with key management staff to improve and establish best practice care services across SEWB and MDAS.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain accurate client records and support an active caseload.
Work in accordance with MDAS strategic objectives as directed.
Work in a safe manner adhering to all work health and safety (WH&S) requirements and report all hazards and incidents through the organisations WH&S processes.
Comply with organisational policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct Escalation of Risk and instrument of delegation
Actively participate in line management and an annual performance plan which determines key responsibilities strategies and performance indicators which are in line with the organisations strategic and business plans.

Complies with relevant Quality Risk and Occupational Health and Safety laws standards safe work practices policies and procedures and attend to all improvements & training opportunities.

Assist with and support any internal or external audit processes.

Experience in a Social & Emotional Wellbeing environment directing and delivering services.
Demonstrated client-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in client needs.

Professional competency personal integrity and credibility foster the trust and cooperation of others.
Proven ability to lead and manage SEWB services.
Promote and actively lead team development and further enhance management activities.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Proven ability to communicate consult and liaise with relevant professionals clients staff and community members to achieve identified organisational objectives and goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including experience in and the ability to collate and prepare statistical reports and submissions.
Problem Solving
Proven ability to solve problems based on operational knowledge and experience scanning for useful information looking for underlying causes and suggesting alternative actions for improved service delivery.
Respect Cultural Diversity
Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Qualification/s:
Diploma or Higher qualification in Community Services Health Discipline or training and Education provision.
At least 2 years post qualification experience in Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs and/or Social and Emotional Wellbeing Service delivery with the ability to obtain a higher qualification in a relevant field.
Senior First Aid Certificate
Mental Health First Aid (or willingness to obtain within 12 months of appointment)
Other Screening Requirements:
A current Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
