Summary
The Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations for the parent company assisting the corporate accounting team with month-end close-related items and other monthly/quarterly reporting requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail the ability to manage multiple priorities and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the following essential duties. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Perform general ledger accounting including journal entries reconciliations and accruals
- Assist with month-end quarter-end and year-end close processes including preparation and review of supporting schedules
- Support intercompany reconciliation process and assist in resolving variances
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies U.S. GAAP and internal control requirements
- Prepare internal and external audit requests
- Analyze selling general and administrative expense for coding and accurate accounting treatment
- Support continuous process improvements
- Crosstrain within the corporate accounting team to provide coverage support business continuity and prepare for future growth opportunities
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
The following generally describes the requirements to perform the assigned duties successfully.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
- 25 years of accounting experience preferably in a corporate environment
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and OneStream is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA CMA or equivalent certification preferred
