The Opportunity

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Brent is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs within a mainstream setting. This role is suitable for candidates who enjoy working collaboratively and supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.

You will be supporting pupils across EYFS Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 working with children who present with Autism speech and language needs ADHD learning difficulties and SEMH needs. Support may be delivered 1:1 or within small groups depending on pupil needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN within the classroom

  • Assist with differentiated learning activities and curriculum access

  • Implement strategies from EHCPs and support plans

  • Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times

  • Monitor and record pupil progress

  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Person Specification

  • Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable

  • Patient nurturing and consistent approach

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Understanding of inclusive practice

  • Willingness to engage in training and professional development

This role is suitable for both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and candidates looking to build their SEN experience.
