Job Summary

At the ETH spin-off Lightly we build software solutions to help companies improve their deep learning models. The available data for deep learning grows faster than human tagging and available compute power. Our customers already face this problem and have too much data to process. As a solution we built software to identify and work with the most relevant samples only. Learn more about us on our website.

We are a team of talented developers and researchers in Zurich and are backed by YCombinator. Every member of the team is going to have a massive impact.

Tasks

As a (Senior) Software Engineer youre building and improving our core product. You are an all-rounder with a focus on putting the subparts of our product stack together.

Particularly you will get to:

Come up with and implement software to solve customer needs.
Design and implement new features across the stack.
Research and implement new technologies and solutions.
Build automated testing and benchmarking infrastructure.
Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases infrastructure and processes you will encounter.
Proactively identify and prioritize improvements to the teams processes codebases and best practices.

Requirements

Ideally you have:

MSc or PhD in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
Experience in building complex software products e.g. spanning multiple programming languages.
Excellent coding skills in one of Python TypeScript (NodeJS and React/Svelte)
Knowledge of software engineering and software design best practices.
Experience with building and shipping software solutions.
A strong passion for new technologies and interest in keeping up with latest technologies.
A creative collaborative and product-focused mindset.
