Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Special Care Nursery / NICU
Location - Brick Township NJ
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
Role Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) assigned to the Special Care Nursery (SCN) / NICU is responsible for delivering safe high-quality nursing care to newborn patients. This role involves close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to assess patient needs develop and implement individualized care plans and ensure optimal outcomes for newborns requiring specialized monitoring and care.
Key Responsibilities
Assess plan implement and document nursing care based on newborn patient needs
Identify and prioritize patient care requirements through ongoing assessments
Develop coordinate and evaluate individualized plans of care
Initiate assessments based on patient condition physician diagnosis and functional health frameworks
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care
Accurately document care in accordance with standards of nursing practice and patient acuity
Advocate for evidence-based nursing practices and support clinical innovations
Deliver patient- and family-centered care aligned with professional nursing practice models
Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of Mother-Baby and/or newborn care experience
Demonstrated experience caring for newborns including well newborns
Ability to manage newborn assessments monitoring and routine interventions
Education Requirements
Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Certifications & Licensure
BLS (AHA required)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (single-state or compact license accepted where applicable)
