Accountant (Commercial)

As the Commercial Accountant Circular Services youll play a key role in strengthening financial performance across our recycling operations. Youll partner closely with operational teams providing meaningful insights that support efficiency cost control and longterm sustainability outcomes.

Youll also take ownership of financial oversight for our Nelson Circular Services site - a smaller operation thats perfect for someone developing their commercial decisionsupport skillset. As the business evolves your scope and influence will grow with it.

This role suits someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves learning how a circular recycling environment operates and working directly with people at all levels - from operators to managers to commercial leads.

What Youll Be Doing

• Supporting Circular Services operations with actionable financial insights
• Analysing cost structures volumes yields and material flows unique to recycling
• Supporting pricing models service costing and commercial decisionmaking
• Partnering with operations to improve reporting processes and financial visibility
• Leading financial support for the Nelson recycling operation (with occasional travel)
• Contributing to forecasting budgeting and performance tracking
• Helping shape the financial lens over a division that directly enables sustainability outcomes

Qualifications :

To succeed in this role youll bring:

• A pathway toward CAANZ/CPA membership
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office especially Excel
• Ability to interpret and analyse data from multiple systems and sources
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across finance and operations and autonomously when needed
• Confidence communicating complex financial concepts clearly and simply
• Strong commercial awareness and curiosity about how the business really works
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A genuine interest in sustainability recycling or the circular economy
• (Bonus) Experience in operational environments such as recycling manufacturing logistics or transport
