Foreman (Laundry)
Department / Hospital / Cluster: Laundry and Linen Exchange Services & Supporting Services/ Ruttonjee & Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals / Hong Kong East Cluster
Pay: HK$23725 to HK$30244 (HGPS Point 7 to 11) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the supervision and delivery of laundry and business support functions / services as listed below:
(a) Laundry and Linen Exchange Exchange
(b) Cleansing Pest Control Garden and Tree Management
(c) Patient Portering and Material Transportation
(d) Security Carpark and Road Control
(e) Fire Safety
(f) Waste Management
2. Monitor and review performance of the laundering and business support services provided by the outsourced service contractor.
3. Supervise and training supporting staff.
4. Ensure staff compliance with HA related ordinances policies and guidelines.
5. Keep and control inventory of linen and stock items
6. Assist in implementing occupational safety and health programs.
7. Assist in implementing quality management programs
8. Assist in handling emergencies and providing support to ad-hoc incidents
9. Prepare duty roster service statistics and operation reports.
10. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Entry Requirements
1. (a) 2 years experience in laundry handling healthcare linen; OR
(b) 3 years satisfactory service in HA.
2. Have shown the potential to lead and supervise staff.
3. Able to read and write Chinese and simple English.
OR
1. Completed secondary education.
2. 2 years post-qualification supervisory experience in the field of laundry / textile or garment / manufacturing / healthcare industry or other related services / industries.
3. Have shown the potential to lead and supervise staff.
Preferred Attributes
1. Possess working experience in the field of laundry / textile or garment / manufacturing / healthcare industry or other related services / industries at supervisory level.
2. With knowledge in application of computer software including Microsoft Office and email communication etc.
3. Ability in handling ad hoc and emergency duties.
4. Good interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
5. Mature self-motivated good sense of responsibility and able to work independently.
