POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Housekeeping Attendant Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor
Department: Housekeeping Date: January 2026
Responsible for ensuring the accurate cleanliness of the hotel guestrooms and laundry facility.
Supervision Received:
Supervision is received from the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Clean all assigned rooms using established approved methods which includes but is not limited to the following: makes beds with clean sheets dusts furniture replenishes guest supplies and towels cleans bathroom vacuums wipes down mirrors and replaces amenities.
- Sweep the patios outside the rooms and wash the windows.
- Prevents loss or damage to hotel supplies the hotels property and the guests property. Never leaves a guestroom open or a room attendant cart unattended.
- Dust and vacuum of lobby furniture in the hotel and restaurant.
- Ensures that the lobby and foyer areas are clean at all times.
- Vacuum all carpeted and hard wood areas checking for spots and reporting to Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Clean lobby restrooms and restock all supplies as needed.
- Clean windows in the lobby and designated areas.
- Wash dry fold and distribute of clean linen.
- Clean and organize storage rooms.
- Clean dryer filter baskets.
- Ensures that chemicals are used in accordance with safety regulations.
- Performs errands for guests as requested i.e. delivering towels blankets pillows etc.
- Ensures that all lost and found items are returned to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Have knowledge of activities in the hotel.
- Prepares maintenance request forms for all necessary repairs and gives to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Ensures that room attendant carts are clean and neat at all times while maintaining an ample level of supplies.
- Keep work area neat and organized.
- Represents the hotel in a positive and friendly manner at all times.
- Inspect all equipment and furniture in your work area daily for any hazards to employees and/or guests.
- Reports all potential safety hazards to a manager immediately.
- Re-stock cart and clean & empty vacuum at the end of every shift.
- Maintains good response time to guest and management requests.
- Ensures that all guests are greeted.
- Complies with all policies and procedures set forth by the Employee Handbook.
Secondary Functions:
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shift.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Knowledge of chemicals and operation of industrial machines.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to perform those activities necessary to complete the essential functions of the job either with or without reasonable accommodation.
