Are you an experienced CG Senior FX Artist or Lead looking for your next opportunity Our Vancouver studio is looking to fill a Lead Houdini FX Artist role on an upcoming CG show!

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Design and animate effects utilizing Houdini for smoke clouds fire lava and water that meet the technical and aesthetic standards of the project.
- Take direction from FX Supervisor and FX TDs.
- Work with the lighting team and CG Supervisor to determine the best possible technical and creative approaches to be able to work smoothly within the pipeline.
- Produce look tests based on the provided concepts.
- Work within the show structure and production deadlines to complete tasks.
- Help ensure weekly assigned quotas and expectations are met by the team.
- Lead teach and guide a team of FX Artists to create the assigned show style.
- Work closely with FX Supervisors on each episode to achieve deliverables while creating workflow efficiency.
- Work closely with the Production Coordinator to proactively flag and problem-solve any potential issues.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Previous industry experience working in a studio environment working on an episodic show.
- Strong Knowledge of Houdini Dynamic tools.
- A good understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena.
- Self-driven a good communicator and a great team player.
- Strong technical skills within a show structure.
- Ability to multitask prioritize and problem-solve.
- Experience rendering with Mantra.
- Ability to mentor motivate and lead by example less experienced artists while having a great attitude!
- Comfortable working with production on task assignment of the team.
- Previous experience in a lead role is an asset.
- Prior experience in the CG animation industry is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Nuke is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Renderman and/or Katana is an asset.
- Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.
START DATE: February 2026
- Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31 2025 and be able to provide the appropriate supporting documents.
- All Atomic employees in this role have the opportunity to work remotely within BC artists within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland can also choose hybrid and in-studio options.

Please note: This expected pay range is for British Columbia and is not applicable to locations outside of the province of British Columbia.
Wage ranges are based on a weekly rate.
Vancouver Pay Range
$1600 - $1800 CAD
