Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

You should have:

• ICMA finalist ACCA finalist BCom BBA in Finance or equivalent qualification with relevant work experience
• minimum two years experience in finance
• good knowledge of accounting principles
• strong analytical skills
• good interpersonal and communication skills
• proficiency in computer applications especially MS Office

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• approve and check local and foreign payments as per the approved authority matrix ensuring accurate recording tax compliance and adherence to AKU policies
• supervise staff who process payments ensuring all payments are made on time and institutional commitments are fulfilled
• liaise with various departments on day-to-day matters including payments contracts and related activities
• prepare and review monthly schedules and reports for assets liabilities and projects as assigned and follow up with relevant stakeholders for recovery or adjustments of funds/status
• take an active part in monthly quarterly and annual general ledger closing activities including internal and external audits
• prepare monthly schedules reports and responses to budget variance reports
• perform quarterly and annual closing activities and prepare variance analysis
• undertake annual audit tasks and activities as assigned
• prepare annual withholding tax reconciliation.
