Field Reimbursement Managers will be the field subject matter expertrelating to billing coding education as well as the management of reimbursement and access issues for Heron products throughout their designated geography. They will regularly interact and utilize Heron Connect HUB services to assist with resolving claims issues as they arise. Additionally they will contribute to developing billing coding reimbursement and educational resources for field teams while also creating opportunities to engage with select regional plans to advance access initiatives
Collaborate with field sales teams and commercial leadership to support field reimbursement and product access in respective disease categories. The National Field Reimbursement Manager primary responsibility is to assist product access in complex evolving reimbursement spaces through education office assistance and issue resolution. This includes partnering with key executives of assigned accounts to create mutually beneficial business relationships. The National Field Reimbursement Managers will be a key interface with key community oncology practices ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) and hospital outpatient departments (HOPD) to provide personal payer strategies and reimbursement guidance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cross-functional collaboration to ensure appropriate access and reimbursement of Herons products including evaluation of competitive activity identification of key opportunities and development of specific market objectives and tactics that optimize business performance
- Implement strategies and tactics to support appropriate product placement and reimbursement (coverage coding payment and patient access) across payer customers.
- Effectively collaborate with community oncology practices ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) and hospital outpatient departments (HOPD) to ensure access to Herons product portfolio identifying access barriers and supporting actions that align to improve patient access to therapy.
- Educate ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) and hospital outpatient departments (HOPD) on the CMS Policy for Non-Opioid Pain Management and how this policy impacts practices and payer contracts.
- Lead payer provider outreach plans within all targeted oncology and acute care accounts with aligned clinical and administrative leaders case managers and other medical management team members
- Effectively implement and manage all programs as directed by commercial leadership including assistance in the development of specific payer marketing programs and tools.
- Provide frequent market segment updates to commercial leadership and functional area partners. Identify important provider and payer trends as well as competitive intelligence that may affect product utilization.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Management or Life Science.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a commercial stage pharmaceutical organization payer organization or surgical/oncology practice; minimum five (5) years in Oncology and/or Acute Care Buy and Bill product experience.
- Strong and proven ability to navigate complex buy and bill reimbursement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify develop communicate and execute on business strategies based on segment opportunities.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively up to 70% of the time.
