Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations of janitorial staff to ensure all cleaning duties are completed effectively and efficiently
- Oversee and coordinate nightly service requests ensuring all work orders and special tasks are completed and documented properly
- Process and submit janitorial staff payroll accurately and on time including reviewing timesheets and attendance
- Develop and implement detailed cleaning schedules and procedures for all areas of the facility
- Train team members on proper cleaning techniques equipment usage and safety protocols
- Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; place timely orders to avoid shortages
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards
- Respond promptly to maintenance or cleaning issues and ensure timely resolution
- Maintain open communication with facility managers and provide regular updates on operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA health and safety standards as well as company policies
- Promote a positive professional and respectful work environment among janitorial staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive coaching and feedback
- Assist with recruiting hiring and onboarding new janitorial staff
- Collaborate with other departments for special project coordination and event setup/cleanup
- Keep accurate records of cleaning schedules supply usage payroll attendance and nightly service request logs
- Continually assess and improve cleaning procedures for increased efficiency and quality
- Lead by example with a strong work ethic professionalism and commitment to service excellence
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in janitorial supervision or team leadership in a custodial/facilities setting
- Proficient in floor care techniques including terrazzo ESD flooring and other specialty surfaces
- Understanding of payroll processes and timekeeping systems
- Strong organizational leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety data sheets (SDS)
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
- Flexible availability including evening and weekend shifts as needed
