Job Summary

Metro PT is looking for a motivated compassionate forward-thinking licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to work closely with and under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in patient care notifying the supervising Physical Therapist of matters concerning the patients condition.
  • Follows the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and practices within state practice guidelines.
  • Exercises sound judgement care professionalism and skill in the performance of duties.
  • Instructs and counsels patients effectively in exercises and recovery.
  • Identifies patients needs and exhibits compassion and caring.
  • Conveys potential modifications ensuring patients progress safety and comfort to the Physical Therapist.
  • Completes documentation in the EMR to support the delivery of physical therapy services
  • Under direct supervision of and with co-signature by a PT records daily notes.
  • Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
  • Helps treat patients by applying ice or heat packs helping patients onto exercise equipment monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques as requested by PT.
  • Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
  • Enhances physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments is a team player.
  • Reports any issues needing resolution to Physical Therapists.

Qualifications :

  • PTA Licensed to practice in the State of New York
  • Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises functional training and physical modalities
  • Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
  • Ability to delegate appropriate support care to non-licensed staff and serve as a resource in their training.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60000.00-$75000.00. Salary is based on various factors including relevant experience knowledge skills other job-related qualifications and geography. Additionally this position is eligible for incentive compensation. The Companys incentive compensation plan is subject to change. Medical dental vision 401(k) paid time off and other benefits are also available subject to the terms of the Companys plan.
