Job Summary

We are seeking a Casual Research Associate II to support the research platform of Dr. Kelvin Chan through the Canadian Cancer Real-World Evaluation (CCRE) Platform. The Research Associate II will be reporting to Dr. Kelvin Chan CCRE Platform Director and/or Rebecca Mercer CCRE Platform Manager. They will play a pivotal role in CCREs operational activities providing strategic methodologic advice on an as-needed basis. MR1

About CCRE:

CCRE is a pan-Canadian team of experts who evaluate the real-world safety and effectiveness of cancer drugs in practice. Our work helps policy-makers clinicians and patients make informed decisions on cancer therapies. CCRE is funded by Canadas Drug Agency as part of the CoLab Post-Market Drug Evaluation program and is hosted at Sunnybrook Research Institute with participating sites in Alberta (University of Calgary) and British Columbia (BC Cancer).

Job Responsibilities:

The Research Associate II will support and conduct analyses to support program decision-making real-world evidence projects and other internal/external queries. This individual will also analyze real-world data to address policy-related questions and produce technical and plain language analytics documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for a variety of analytical needs including development of robust analytical plans statistical analysis key performance indicators data visualizations and routine and ad hoc reporting
  • Identify analyze and interpret information in patient-level datasets to inform project objectives
  • Develop options new ideas and recommendations for analytic plans and escalate risks if analysis exceeds scope
  • Monitor and adjust work plans to meet priorities and objectives and propose recommendations to address issues
  • Present analysis using excellent written verbal and graphical communication skills
  • Experience working directly with clinical experts and knowledge transfer with a clinical audience

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD in Health Services Research or related area of study
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressively senior experience in a decision support or analytical environment; strong experience with healthcare and familiarity with Ontarios data landscape are crucial
  • Strong analytic and research skills with experience working with various health care administrative data sets e.g. OCR OLIS ODB NDFP DAD NACRS etc
  • Ability to analyze data and present complex information and recommendations in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel SQL SAS R and Power BI
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with a broad range of stakeholders including clinicians researchers decision-makers and various other internal/external groups.
