JOB OVERVIEW
Under the general guidance of the Pool and Beach General Manager the Pool and Beach Server is responsible for taking and delivering food and drink orders to guest in outdoor pool and beach areas while ensuring a high level of customer service and safety. The role also includes maintaining a clean organized environment and assisting with guest seating amenities and basic pool and beach operations .
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities
- Greet guests present menus explain specials and take accurate food and beverage orders using a POS or order pad.
- Serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and food to guests in a timely professional manner including by the pool sunbeds cabanas and beach chairs.
- Monitor guest satisfaction anticipate needs (refills towels shade clean chairs) and handle basic complaints or special requests courteously.
- Service and safety duties
- Set up and break down pool/beach service stations including stocking linens glassware paper goods condiments and bar items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool decks tables chairs and service areas; clear dishes trash and used towels promptly.
- Follow all health safety and alcohol service regulations including checking IDs and monitoring guest consumption in an outdoor environment.
- Cash handling and administration
- Enter orders accurately into the POS system print and present checks process payments and provide correct change when handling cash.
- Maintain accountability for all transactions and follow property standards for opening/closing side work and paperwork.
Skills and qualifications
- Previous food and beverage pool serving experience (often 12 years) in a hotel resort or highvolume restaurant is commonly required or preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills the ability to upsell menu items and comfort working outdoors in varying weather are essential.
- The position requires alcohol service certification and other local permits or health cards.
- Physical and schedule requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods carry trays (often 2540 pounds) and move pool furniture as needed.
- Willingness to work weekends holidays and peak seasons since pool and beach operations are busiest during these times.
Skills and requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment carry multiple items and stay organized during busy service.
Good communication and teamwork skills with a professional guest-focused attitude
Monitor guest satisfaction respond to requests and handle basic complaints or issues professionally.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas including clearing dishes wiping/disinfecting tables.
Set up restock and break down service stations including napkins menus condiments and service supplies.
Strong customer service and communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced outdoor environment and work well in a team.
