Your role and responsibilities

You will:

  • lead on CME investigations to locate children believed to be missing education ensuring the local authority fulfil their legal duties under Section 436A of the Education Act 1996.
  • develop and deliver CME Information and training to schools SCC Teams and other partner agencies and professionals to raise the profile of the CME Team and promote the inclusion of all children and young people within educational settings.
  • provide support and guidance to Headteachers school staff and other professionals in relation to the appropriate roll removal of a pupil and new admissions to the school roll.
  • prepare detailed case notes reports and statistical data for internal use and external inspections.
  • be responsible for the coordination administration and issue School Attendance Orders (SAOs) within the legal framework timescales.

You will need:

  • to be passionate about making a positive difference for Suffolk.
  • to demonstrates a practical understanding of solution focused approaches of intervention
  • knowledge of the social and emotional influences on childrens ability to learn with a sensitive and inclusive approach to matters relating to disability sexuality gender and ethnicity.
