Overview:
The Garg lab studies the molecular mechanisms of congenital cardiovascular disease. The lab is seeking a postdoctoral scientist to investigate the Mechanisms and Therapeutics for Congenital Aortic Valve Disease. This NIH-funded project studies the cellular and molecular pathways that underlie the development and disease progression of congenital aortic valve stenosis using a genetic murine model. Novel therapeutics will be tested to prevent/slow stenotic disease progression. This position will require experience in the use of genetically modified mouse models (i.e. handling colony management drug treatments) cardiovascular physiology cardiac development and genomics.
