| JOB SUMMARY | ||||||
| The X-Ray Technologist performs a variety of radiologic procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining | ||||||
| a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities of the X-ray Technologist include | ||||||
| performing routine X-Ray procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating | ||||||
| compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction. | ||||||
| JOB RESPONSIBILITIES | ||||||
| 1. Performs routine X-Ray procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently | ||||||
| performs procedures with limited supervision. | ||||||
| 2. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol patient history referring | ||||||
| providers and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure. Able to burn CDs per | ||||||
| patient request. | ||||||
| 3. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes | ||||||
| responsibility for patient care safety and comfort. | ||||||
| 4. Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any | ||||||
| equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider. | ||||||
| 5. Floats to various locations when necessary. | ||||||
| 6. Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner. | ||||||
| promotes teamwork by assisting other staff as needed. Words and actions support team improvement. | ||||||
| 7. Maintains credentials for position. | ||||||
| WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
| 2 or more years in the Radiology field is preferred. | ||||||
| High School Diploma or GED. | ||||||
| Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic | ||||||
| Technologists. | ||||||
| Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida | ||||||
| Department of Health. | ||||||
| SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
| Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images identifying equipment problems | ||||||
| establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients medical staff and public. | ||||||
| This job requires prolonged sitting or standing frequent bending stooping or stretching; Must be able to see with or | ||||||
| without corrective eyewear must be able to hear clearly with or without assistance. This position may require lifting | ||||||
| 50 plus pounds. |
