Job Summary

Administer nursing care to patients in an efficient safe and courteous manner using appropriate nursing procedures. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements and to provide the care needed as described in the units/areas/departments policies and procedures. The nurse must be clinically competent to care for patients knowledgeable about disease processes and can identify symptoms or complications. He or she must have the ability to utilize information technologies to meet patient needs and provide evidence-based knowledge at the point of care to improve health outcomes.
Regulatory/Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate degree required bachelor degree preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure within state of Colorado.
- Minimum of 1 year ER/Inpatient experience preferred.
- Enroll in Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) curriculum for BLS ACLS and PALS upon hire. Maintain current RQI certifications throughout employment.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 12 months of hire.
- Unit Specific requirements:
- TNCC Course Completion within 12 months of hire.
Language Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Strong communication skills.
