The City of OFallon is accepting applications for the position of Warrant Clerk. This position enters and modifies warrant information as needed runs criminal history checks for probation cases and at the Prosecuting Attorneys request. Our Warrant Clerks earn an hourly rate of $22.43 to $33.65 (top of grade). Starting pay for this position will be $22.43 per hour. While this position typically works a schedule during the 8 - 5 timeframe on weekdays it is required for this person to be available Monday evenings. Could this be the right fit for you
MAJOR DUTIES
- Enters warrants runs criminal histories and verifications on MULES computer system as requested assuring for accuracy and timeliness
- Greets walk-in traffic in need of assistance providing information on court processes as appropriate
- Receives phone calls handles calls as appropriate takes messages or transfers caller to appropriate person/department
- Files and retrieves tickets
- Opens logs and processes incoming mail
- Attends nightly Municipal Court sessions (typically Monday evenings) and aids the Court Administrator and Court Clerk as needed
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in dealing with the public.
- Completed high school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to operate other office equipment.
- Exceptional communication and telephone skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and make sound decisions quickly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) certified and CJIS certified or ability to be certified within 90 days.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Ability to be bonded.
