Program Description:

The Industrial Mechanic Technician Trainee program will combine formal and on-the-job training (OJT) to prepare individuals for advancement opportunities as an Industrial Mechanic Technician. The formal training will be completed at Metropolitan Community College (MCC) or equivalent school and curriculum. Trainees will be required to complete the Electrical Mechanical Systems Career Certificate with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Duration of the program will be 1 ½-2 years.

Each Trainee will need to log their daily work and review with their assigned Maintenance Engineer Trainee will have formal quarterly performance addition the Trainee will have an annual performance review that is tied to the annual merit increase. The trainee must be making progress toward the completion of their Electrical Mechanical Systems Career Certificate and must be successfully performing in the role of the Industrial Mechanic Technician Trainee. Both factors will be reviewed during the formal quarterly performance review process. Failure to progress in the program would result in dismissal.

The Trainee will be required to attend a minimum of two classes per semester but no more than 9 credit hours per semester. Papillion Foods LLC will pay the Trainee their hourly wage while in to and from school will be at the expense of the Trainee. Tuition and books will be paid by Papillion Foods LLC. The Trainee will be required to refund Papillion Foods LLC 100% of costs paid by Papillion Foods LLC should their employment end for any reason within 3 years from the completion date of the Electrical Mechanical Systems Career Certificate. Also the Trainee agrees to pay 100% of Papillion Foods LLC costs for any class that they do not receive a C or higher. The Trainee agrees to make a onetime payment for the costs paid by Papillion Foods LLC or agrees to authorize payroll deductions for the amount equivalent to the costs paid by Papillion Foods LLC.

Program Completion:

To successfully complete the program the Trainee must obtain the Electrical Mechanical Systems Career Certificate and an overall meets expectations formal performance evaluation. Upon successful completion of the program (Certification and OJT) the Trainee will be assigned any available Industrial Mechanic Technician position (assigned by preference if multiple positions are available). If no open position exists the Trainee will be advanced to the Industrial Mechanic Technician career level until an opening becomes available. Since a Trainee will be assigned their first role the 6-month waiting period will be waived in the event they wish to bid on an open job.

Program Dismissal:

A Trainee must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 throughout the program. The Trainee will be placed on a Performance Improvement Plan if at any time the cumulative GPA drops below 2.0. If the cumulative GPA drops below 2.0 for two consecutive semesters the Trainee will be removed from the addition the Trainee may be placed on a Performance Improvement Plan based on job. Successful completion of the PIP will be required to remain in the Trainee need for a second PIP would result in dismissal from the program.

If the Trainee has not met the requirements for successful completion of the program within 2 years of the start date the Trainee will be removed from the program.

Upon dismissal from the program the employee will be allowed to express interest in any open position however awarding of the job will follow the standard process and the employee is not able to be placed in a new position within 3 months employment with the company may be terminated.

1 year of Previous Experience preference will be granted to those who have work experience related to electrical mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and process systems. Knowledge in these areas will be assessed through formal testing administered by Papillion Foods LLC

Formal Training preference will be granted to those based on the number completed courses within the Industrial Mechanic Technician curriculum or equivalent.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must not now or at any time in the future require employer sponsorship for a work visa.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
  • Must have Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Must be English Bilingual reading writing speaking
  • 2 -3 years of Industrial Food manufacturing experience or a combination of experience and accredited technical training certificates or an associates degree in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Must be willing to work holidays if scheduled.
