Job Summary

SUMMARY
Combines medications and chemicals for specific use at Cincinnati Eye Institute and other facilities. Follows USP 797 guidelines PCAB FDA and State of Ohio Regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Compound weigh and record chemicals before combining to meet dosage requirements.
- Work with pharmacies to ensure a proper understanding of their needs.
- Maintain a drug inventory and provide counseling to physicians.
- Conduct and recommend stability studies on formulations. Review analytical work done by independent labs.
- Prepare for and assist audits by the FDA and DEA
- Assists with monthly planning and making daily assignments for the Pharmacy Staff.
- Maintain knowledge of medications dosages interactions and side effects per symptoms and treatments.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization as defined by management.

Team members will work with patients of all ages races and genders.
Education
Post Graduate Degree
Experience Requirements
- Requires a Masters in Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school or equivalent with 2 years of Pharmacy experience.
- Ohio License required
- At least 2 years of pharmacy experience required. Knowledge of dosages interactions and side effects of medications required.

- Travel to other site locations may be necessary. Thus those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Location:Work takes place in a normal pharmaceutical environment. Travel to other CVP locations may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities of the job. Thus those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards.
Exposure:Works in normal office environment during normal business hours. May be exposed to blood or bodily fluids. May also be exposed to various cleaning supplies.
Equipment:The equipment typically used in this position is a computer fax copier printer scanner and telephone. Must have good working knowledge of Word Excel and Access. Other equipment may be used as needed. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment.
