Reporting to the Speech-Language Pathology Coordinator and receiving work direction from Speech-Language Pathologists as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary health care team the Speech-Language Rehabilitation Assistant assists designated clients with rehabilitation treatment programs designed to improve the clients communication and swallowing abilities. Assists with client treatments administers routine procedures documents clients progress prepares appropriate client materials/activities maintains augmentative communication and other related equipment maintaining an inventory of supplies reviewing referrals collecting information and working cooperatively with families professionals agencies and community members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Training And Experience

Completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program or a Rehabilitation Assistant Program that includes theory and clinical practice experiences pertaining to adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Skills And Abilities

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Organize work
  • Operate related equipment
  • Ability to keyboard at 55 w.p.m.
