Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment supporting neonatal pediatric and adult populations in a community hospital setting. This role is ideal for RTs with strong NICU and pediatric experience and is open to first-time travelers.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to neonatal pediatric and adult patients across multiple units
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation including ventilators BiPAP and CPAP
- Administer respiratory medications and therapies including nebulizer treatments
- Perform airway management suctioning and pulmonary toileting
- Assist with or perform bronchoscopy procedures as needed
- Respond to respiratory emergencies in the Emergency Department ICU and inpatient units
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Accurately document patient care and treatments in EPIC
- Float to assigned units as needed based on patient and staffing needs
- Participate in on-call coverage per department requirements
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
- Active North Carolina Respiratory Therapy license in hand (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
- Neonatal and Pediatric experience required
- Experience in NICU PICU Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Emergency Department strongly preferred
- Current certifications required:
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet on-call requirements
- Comfortable working in a community hospital and floating between units
- First-time travelers welcome
