Business Analyst – Management Information Systems (MIS)

Job Title: Business Analyst Management Information Systems (MIS)

Location: Remote (Local to Austin)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Responsibilities:

• Develop manage and implement the WIC MIS requirements documentation project plan.
• Coordinate all project activities including:
  • Reviewing the current MIS
  • Translating current MIS functionality into usable system requirements
  • Gathering and documenting business needs and system requirements
  • Performing a gap analysis of existing system documentation against federal state and program requirements
• Utilize project management methodologies to develop and execute a plan for the creation and documentation of business requirements for the existing WIC MOSAIC system.
• Ensure accuracy and effective communication of requirements with leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide support direction and guidance to team members in:
  • Analyzing current systems and supporting documentation
  • Developing business requirements
  • Conducting gap analysis of existing system functionality documentation against current documentation and program requirements
• Develop expertise in the assigned application and assist team members in developing expertise.
• Obtain stakeholder sign-off on requirements and priorities.
• Collaborate daily with team members to monitor progress proactively identify issues and report status.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Business analysis experience including requirements elicitation and documentation
• Knowledge of project management frameworks
• Knowledge of large-scale IT operations and information technology industry trends
• Skill in defining all types of requirements functional specifications and other deliverables
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate among multiple parties resolve conflicts and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of personnel
• Ability to create clear complete and actionable requirements documentation
• Ability to ensure accuracy in documenting system functionality and regulatory requirements

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with experience resolving conflicts and maintaining effective working relationships across organizational levels
• Experience working with government regulations or compliance frameworks
• Experience in project management
• Experience leading a team or workgroup
• Skill in policy interpretation and translating regulations into system requirements
• Experience with requirements elicitation techniques including reviewing current MIS functionality and translating it into requirements
• Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in business communications computer science computer information systems management information systems or a related field
• Experience gathering management information system requirements at a large organization
• Experience creating solicitation or contract requirements
• PMI-PBA or IIBA CBAP certification
