This position assists with all aspects of staff supervision including interviewing hiring training discipline and performance evaluations while planning organizing and assigning work and providing technical guidance to employees. The role involves training and orienting new staff interpreting criminal traffic and minor offense rules statutes and municipal ordinances and responding to inquiries and complaints from the public attorneys law enforcement and government agencies. The position supports case managers chambers judicial assistants and magistrate judges within the Third Judicial District by assisting with criminal traffic and minor offense procedures problem-solving and rule interpretation. Additional responsibilities include performing subordinate staff duties as needed providing in-court support and backup for traffic hearings and assuming full supervisory responsibilities in the supervisors absence.

Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND two years of office clerical work experience.

Substitutions:

Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a year-for-year basis.

Completion of 72 semester credit hours or 96 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the two years of required office clerical work experience.

Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary paralegal or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical work experience on a month-for-month basis.

EDUCATION
