Position overview
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse Junior Level provides nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures in a specialized cath lab environment. This role is ideal for early-career RNs with 1 2 years of experience who want to build skills in cardiovascular procedures hemodynamic monitoring and moderate sedation while working closely with cardiologists and technologists.
Key responsibilities

Provide pre- intra- and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations angiograms angioplasties stent placements and related procedures.

Perform focused cardiovascular assessments review history labs and diagnostics and verify informed consent and procedure readiness.

Assist with patient preparation including IV insertion medication administration monitoring and procedural site preparation per protocol.

Monitor patients during procedures including vital signs cardiac rhythm and hemodynamic parameters and promptly report changes to the physician.

Administer and monitor moderate sedation under physician direction documenting patient responses and recovery.

Assist the cath lab team with handling catheters guidewires and specialized equipment within scope of nursing practice and facility policy.

Provide post-procedural care including access site monitoring bleeding control patient education and preparation for transfer or discharge.

Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR ensure compliance with safety infection control and regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement activities.
Required qualifications

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license with Arizona eligibility.

1 2 years of RN experience; prior ICU ED stepdown or cath lab experience strongly preferred for this junior cath lab role.

Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Foundational skills in cardiac/critical care nursing including telemetry monitoring IV therapy and basic hemodynamic assessment.

Strong communication teamwork and organizational skills; comfort working in a procedure-driven high-acuity environment.
