Title: IBM AS-400 Administrator
Location: Pleasant Prairie WI (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months (potential extension)
Job overview
Client is seeking an experienced IBM i (AS/400) Administrator to support infrastructure operations for a leading enterprise client. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience managing IBM Power systems performing firmware upgrades and maintaining HMC environments.
Job Responsibilities
Perform IBM i administration including system installs PTF deployment and HMC maintenance.
Perform system firmware software installation configuration and security requirements.
Perform daily system monitoring verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware server resources systems and key processes.
Review system logs application logs and verify the successful completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform problem isolation definition resolution and follow-up for system application and customer problems.
Provide monthly reporting regarding system performance and assist with capacity planning requirements.
Maintain 3rd party software applications and participate in Disaster Recovery testing.
Administer IBM i environments including installations patches and PTF deployments
Monitor system health review logs and validate backup integrity
Perform firmware and system upgrades with minimal downtime
Manage 3rd-party applications and security configurations
Support Disaster Recovery testing and capacity planning
Must have Skills:
5 years IBM i (AS/400) Administration
5 years HMC Maintenance
5 years System/Firmware Upgrades
