About the opportunity
We are currently seeking an Underground Mine Technician to join the Technical Services team at our Beta Hunt operation. This opportunity is offering a competitive remuneration package and a bi-annual bonus within a continuously growing company whilst on an 8 day on 6 day off roster.
Reporting to the Alternate Manager Underground the Underground Mine Technician is a role designed to inject functional underground mining experience into the technical services team. Practical underground mining knowledge will be leveraged to inform improve and optimise the technical planning and design process and provide practical insight from a frontline perspective. Suitable for experienced operators looking to step into the technical space and who may wish to consider an engineering pathway in the future.
The role includes
- Assist with the production of Drill and Blast plans
- Log and fire production shots using electronic systems (Daveytronics Digidets i-kon etc). Logging and firing may require flexible work hour arrangements on occasion
- Manage and administer various data information systems (Magman Livemine General Daily Reporting functions)
- Conduct underground audits and inspections to ensure operational standards
- Conduct primary and secondary ventilation surveys
- Provide assistance with various technical projects on an ad hoc basis
What do I need
- Minimum 3 years underground operating experience (incl. 1 year production Charge Up or 1 year Longhole drill operation)
- WA Shotfirers Ticket (or have previously held)
- C Class Drivers License
- A Bachelors degree from any field or TAFE desirable
- A Grad Diploma in Mining Engineering (or a desire to work towards)
- First Aid Qualification
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team
- Ability to read technical documents; such as mine plans charge plans and specifications
