Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network & Security Administrator to manage and enhance Deerfields internal network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring reliable connectivity robust security and scalability to support our growing campus and services.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain network hardware including switches wireless access points and firewalls (Fortinet experience is strongly preferred).
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Implement and enforce network security best practices including firewall policies and access controls.
Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to support organizational growth.
Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures.
Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure projects and security initiatives.
Respond to and resolve network-related incidents promptly.

Qualifications

Proven experience in network administration and infrastructure management including hands-on network security experience and knowledge of security principles and compliance standards.
Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls and related security technologies.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP VLANs routing and wireless networking.
Expertise in managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs WANs WLANs and VPNs including implementing administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices.
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for the design and planning of network communication systems.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and the organization.
Relevant Certifications (preferred):
- Networking: CCNA CCNP Fortinet NSE
- Security: CompTIA Security Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) CISSP CISM Certified Network Defender (CND)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Ability to design scalable network solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to use a computer keyboard mouse and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift carry push or pull equipment and materials weighing up to approximately 30 pounds including network hardware and tools.
Ability to bend stoop kneel crouch and reach to install inspect or service network equipment located in server rooms wiring closets ceilings or under desks.
Ability to climb ladders or step stools as needed to access network cabling wireless access points and other infrastructure components.
Ability to visually inspect equipment cabling and network indicators including reading small text diagrams and color-coded wiring.
Ability to hear and respond to alarms alerts and verbal instructions in both office and technical environments.
Ability to work in server rooms or other technical spaces that may have varying temperatures noise levels or confined layouts.
