Job Summary
Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location of role: Near Edwardsville IL 62025
Salary $100K to $125K area Depending on experience DOE
Key Points of the role: Design big real-world mechanical systems that actually get built.
This role is for a senior mechanical engineer who enjoys owning designs end-to-end from concept and calculations through manufacturing and installation. You ll work on large cabinet and enclosure systems that integrate mechanical and electrical components with a strong focus on serviceability manufacturability and structural integrity.
Job Description Details:
What You ll Do
- Design large-scale cabinets and enclosures for electronic systems
- Perform stress load and structural calculations for custom installations
- Ensure designs meet building codes and real-world installation requirements
- Apply tolerance stack-ups to validate designs before production
- Create clear drawings BOMs and engineering changes
- Partner closely with manufacturing on pilot builds and process improvements
- Optimize CNC punch press programs to improve throughput
- Mentor junior mechanical engineers
What You Bring
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Strong sheet metal design and CAD experience
- Comfort with structural calculations and manufacturing constraints
- Experience working with BOMs documentation and production teams
- CNC/turret punch experience is a plus
