Job Summary

AECOM seeks a dual-role professional responsible for driving business growth through client engagement and business development while simultaneously contributing to project execution and delivery. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between client acquisition and service delivery ensuring AECOMs technical expertise aligns with client needs and expectations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment balancing client facing responsibilities with hands on project involvement. This position is based in Southern California. (San Diego LA Long Beach Orange Westlake Village) 

Key Responsibilities

Account Management

  • Identify qualify and pursue new business opportunities and leads with existing clients.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of compelling proposals presentations and interviews to win new projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact building and maintaining strong long-term relationships with clients throughout the entire project life cycle and beyond.
  • Work closely with technical marketing and leadership to align business development efforts with overall company goals. 
  • Identify new business opportunities market trends and potential clients and develop and execute strategies to expand AECOMs market presence.
  • Leverage professional networks to generate leads and partnerships.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and business development goals.

Technical/Project Management

  • Serve as a project manager or technical lead on assigned projects.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations permitting and compliance.
  • Deliver high-quality work delivering projects on time to the specified quality objectives and within budget.
  • Solves complex novel and challenging issues that often require the development of new or improved techniques
  • Negotiations experience with clients and California environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.

 


    Qualifications :

    Minimum Requirements

    • BS in engineering geology environmental science or related field AND (8) Eight years of experience in a technical discipline with a proven track record in business development OR a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 
    • Successful candidate will pass a background check motor vehicle records check.  
    • Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship or Permanent residency is required.  

    Preferred Requirements

    • Masters Degree
    • 15 years related experience
    • Experience managing multidiscipline projects and teams.
    • California Professional Engineer or Geologist
    • Experience leading large-scale environmental remediation projects.
