Job Summary

TheMedical Progressive Care Unitis a 21-bed high acuity step-down unit caring for critically ill adult medical patients. The patient population includes those with complex organ diseases requiring mechanical ventilation vasoactive drips and continuous monitoring. Common medical diagnoses include sepsis respiratory failure GI bleeding liver failure and DKA. This is a highly skilled floor from which new staff will gain instrumental experience. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 2:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity. There is an opportunity for growth on the MPCU regardless of where you are in your career!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required.
  • One year of clinical experience e.g. home care outpatient acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience.
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA Red Cross or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range: Minimum 24.00/hour - Maximum 24.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
