The Culinary Supervisor supervises the work activities of food preparation for patients visitors and staff. The Culinary Supervisor maintains quality control by testing food temperature taste proper portioning appearance etc. Schedules employees within budgeted labor hours. Duties may vary according to assigned area or shift.

Education/ Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to two years Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Nutrition course work or sanitation certification desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of food service food preparation services and sanitation procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective leadership of non-exempt and bargaining unit employees and to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with department and hospital staff.
  • Problem solving skills necessary to deal effectively with routine and minor problems occurring within area of responsibility.
  • Ability to prepare simple reports (e.g. incident and attendance reports) perform arithmetic calculations keep records and supervisor food service employees.
  • The analytical ability to schedule and coordinate working flow to ensure efficiency and effective operations.

Shift:

Full Time (40 hours)

Rotating Shift

Weekend work required

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
