SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER
FIBER & UTILITY INFRASTRUCTURE
Americom TechnologyLLC is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in our SalesDepartment. This position supports estimating Americoms Out Side Plantfor underground infrastructure placing conduit fiber and copper to support telecommunications data networks and fire mitigation.
Americom is a leading provider of utility construction services in the western United States specializing in directional drilling plowing trenching spider plowing hydro excavation micro trenching Fast Fusion fiber optics and comprehensive underground utility construction.
JOB SUMMARY
The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate competitive estimates and proposals for Americom Technologys existing and prospective customers. This role supports sales and business development activities by analyzing project requirements engineering solutions when applicable negotiating with vendors and preparing professional proposals. The Estimator may attend site walkthroughs participate in client meetings and present proposals as required.
This position requires a results-driven professional who demonstrates accountability adaptability and integrity while supporting the long-term strategic goals of the company. The ideal candidate has strong estimating expertise within telecommunications and utility construction and can effectively collaborate across sales operations and leadership teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review job prints drawings specifications and schedules to determine project scope and estimating requirements.
- Develop detailed accurate estimates by assembling labor material equipment and subcontractor units into complete bid packages.
- Understand and apply current job costing structures to ensure accurate and profitable estimates.
- Communicate and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing aligned with project goals.
- Engineer solutions when applicable to optimize cost constructability and customer value.
- Attend site walkthroughs pre-bid meetings and scope reviews as required.
- Prepare clear professional proposals and support documentation.
- Present estimates and proposals to internal teams and customers when necessary.
- Analyze competitive market conditions to develop pricing strategies that support profitability.
- Identify risks assumptions and exclusions and clearly document them within estimates and proposals.
- Maintain the highest level of professionalism and integrity when representing Americom Technology.
- Stay current on industry standards construction methods and advancements in telecommunications technology.
- Adapt to changing priorities and new situations while taking direction with positive results.
- Adhere to all sales and estimating systems processes and procedures while maintaining accuracy accountability and data integrity.
- Maintain strong organization and attention to detail while managing multiple estimates from various sources.
- Interpret information from multiple stakeholders and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with Senior Management Sales Operations and support staff to ensure alignment and successful execution of sales and customer objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in estimating CRM and sales systems related to customers quotes opportunities and sales funnel activity.
- Provide collaborative input into strategic sales planning and partnering or joint sales initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior knowledge of telecommunications and outside plant (OSP) construction related to utilities preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing proficiency.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience with construction-based estimating or project management software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Valid state motor vehicle operators license.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Five plus years of sales experience in construction utilities or telecommunications.
- Estimating experience in telecommunications utilities or construction-related fields preferred.
- Experience supporting sales activities and proposal development is highly desirable.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering construction management or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction management best practices and current rules and regulations related to construction.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Full-time on-site position based at our local office; no remote or hybrid options.
